Meet Scorpion

Keep these points in mind. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations. Scorpion on honey438.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. The tableau has seven columns.

Read the opening cards

Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. All cards in the last three columns are face up. Three cards remain in the stock. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down.

Build in the same suit

A few details help explain this feature. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists.

Order within a group may vary

Here are the details for this mode. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it.

The empty-column rule

Keep these points in mind. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider.

Uncover another choice

The following details apply here. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. The next hidden card is revealed automatically. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed.

The final three cards

Keep these points in mind. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns. The stock contains one final deal of three cards. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty.

Collect ordered runs

Keep these points in mind. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence.

Plan around blocked cards

The following details apply here. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation. Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout.
